If you have sound capabilities the recording you are listening to is Bing Crosby speaking during a Kraft Music Hall episode on July 6, 1944. Bing is recruiting for U.S. army Parachutists.

Who are we?

We are a highly authentic and motivated group of historians which aim to commemorate United States military airborne units that existed from WWII to the present day. Our members range from high school students to retired military and other professionals, as historians dedicated to retelling the Airborne Story. We take pride in commemorating and interpreting the vast achievements and sacrifices our airborne veterans have undertaken. Their sacrifices helped lead this country to the limits and freedoms we now know. It is in their name that we serve to commemorate them today.  We are not a paratrooper reenacting group.

Where are we?

Presently we are based in Southern California.  We participate in events throughout the S. Cal area with displays and demonstrations in our genre.  We hope to expand into other parts of the nation.  Our goal is to unite as many other ABN historians as possible.

How do we do this?

We commemorate the airborne via several ways ranging from "First-Person" historical programs to classroom lectures. We conduct static displays of uniforms and equipment, participate in parades, conduct field demonstrations and reenactments, and lecture to the public. Our members are experts in their fields. Utilizing the knowledge and experience of our former and active duty military personnel we train our membership in the techniques and skills necessary to make a quality impression for our audience.

We take special care and attention to make an accurate portrayal of the typical airborne trooper. We set tough standards in appearance and physical fitness upon ourselves. We exhaustively research archival references in the ongoing effort to interpret ABN history as accurately as possible. We're Troopers!

When are our activities?

Please visit our calendar of events here.  There is usually something going on every month in the S. California area.  In addition there are chapter meetings and other smaller get-togethers that are not commonly posted on the schedule.  All members regardless of membership type are encouraged to attend any event they wish.

Why are we doing this?

A company commander inspects his troops
before leading them into the Annual "Marching Through History" Parade.

Please read our philosophy page.

WWII veterans are passing away at the rate of approx. 1000 (One Thousand) per day. It will not be much longer before we lose the chance to once again remind them that we honor their sacrifices and they their legacy will be remembered. Korean and Vietnam War Veterans will soon follow thereafter.  We seek to offer a memorable "Thank You" for their service to this country. Many of our younger generations are ignorant of the previous generation's sacrifices. We consider it our mission to teach them otherwise.

We offer a chance for a historian to see the artifacts, experience some of the aspects of airborne training, and enjoy some camaraderie with like minded historians. Please check our chapter pages to find a chapter near you, or form a chapter in your region. We look forward to hearing from you.
